How do I access databases off-campus? Last Updated: Jul 17, 2024 Views: 226
It is best to use our A-Z list of Databases, Subject guides or OneSearch to access databases from off-campus. You will be automatically required to log in to the database. If you are browsing the Web and finding articles or eBooks that you want to read then you will need to log in to whatever site you have found - bearing in mind that the Library may not have a subscription. You will need to look for links that are similar to:
- Institutional login
- Shibboleth
- UK Access Management Federation
Choose 'Lancaster University' or 'University of Lancaster' from any list of institutions and you will be taken to our local WebLogin page, where you use your network username and password. Please ignore any OpenAthens or Athens links as Lancaster does not use that service.
If you don't have access to an eBook or paper from the publishers website, search for it in OneSearch using the title. We may have access via an alternative source, or if not you may be able to Request a resource from the Library
