How do I request a book that is out on loan? Last Updated: Jul 26, 2024 Views: 352
If all copies of an item are out on loan, you can request a copy through OneSearch.
You will need to log in first.
Search for your item, click on the title and then under Find & Request click on Request.
A recall e-mail will be sent to the person who has this item on loan asking them to return it within seven days* or by the due date if that is sooner. Fines will be charged on overdue recalled items.
*During the Vacation users are given a longer period to return a recalled book; this will depend on Terms Dates.
We will e-mail you when it is ready for collection from the open access Requests for Collection shelves on A floor. If a book has another request on it when you borrow it, it will only be issued to you for a week (14 days in the vacations); you will not get a recall email. Please check the due date.
You cannot request
- items if your account is blocked
- laptops
- items if you a Community or Alumni Member of the Library
Items can be requested and recalled throughout the year except during the Christmas vacation. Please make sure you check your Lancaster e-mail regularly and can return any recalled items promptly.
