How do I 'log in' to access full-text? Last Updated: Jul 17, 2024 Views: 181
Most resources are accessed using your University login and password. The Library aims to reduce the need for multiple logins for different websites, and apart from a few unique databases, this is mostly the case.
- To search for journals and databases, use OneSearch
- To log in to a specific database, or search for databases in your subject use the Databases A-Z. The Find out how to access library databases when working remotely video on YouTube shows you how to find the A-Z and log in.
Some resources such as O'Reilly require a password setting up. If this is required, the A-Z will include that information.
Sometimes you can log directly into a journal homepage or database, however this isn't always the case. You will need to look for links that are similar to:
- Institutional login
- Shibboleth
- UK Access Management Federation
Choose 'Lancaster University' or 'University of Lancaster' from any list of institutions and you will be taken to our local WebLogin page, where you use your network username and password. Please ignore any OpenAthens or Athens links as Lancaster does not use that service.
However, by searching for a paper or book you require directly in OneSearch, you will always get directed to the full-text (if available).
If for any reason you cannot locate full-text, please request the item using our Request a Resource form.
