How do I export a large number of results from EBSCO databases to EndNote? Last Updated: Sep 03, 2024 Views: 2552
You can export large numbers of results from EBSCO databases such as MedLine, CINAHL, PsycINFO or Business Source Complete using the Share button, and emailing a link to a RIS file and importing this file into EndNote.
This is useful when you need to extract a large set of results, for example for a Systematic Review.
Step by step:
Run your search
From the Share button at the top of your list of results, choose 'Email a link to download exported results (up to X)'
Complete your email address and subject.
Change the file option to RIS format.
When the link arrives, it will have a .ZIP (Compressed File) as an attachment.
Open this file and inside it will contain a .RIS
Open this file. This will normally open in EndNote automatically.
Alternatively:
In EndNote, choose File > Import > File
Select the file and choose the 'Reference Manager RIS' Import Option.
Import the .RIS
Issues with Export
Although uncommon, during periods of high usage, large exports from EBSCO databases may be delayed.
If this doesn't work, please contact your Faculty Librarian for assistance.
