How do I export a large number of results from EBSCO databases to EndNote?

You can export large numbers of results from EBSCO databases such as MedLine, CINAHL, PsycINFO or Business Source Complete using the Share button, and emailing a link to a RIS file and importing this file into EndNote.

This is useful when you need to extract a large set of results, for example for a systematic literature review.

Step by step:

  1. Run your search
  2. From the Share button at the top of your list of results, choose 'Email a link to download exported results (up to X)'

3. Complete your email address and subject.

4. Change the file option to RIS format.

5. When the link arrives, click the link to open a compressed RIS file.

6. Open this file. This will normally open in EndNote automatically.

Alternatively:

7. In EndNote, choose File > Import > File

8. Select the file and choose the 'Reference Manager RIS' Import Option.

If this doesn't work, please contact the Faculty Librarians for assistance.
