Information about Visiting the Library and Covid-19

Although there is no longer a legal mandate that people wear a face covering when in the library from the 19th of July 2021, personal responsibility is important and we expect people to continue to wear them, particularly when social distancing cannot be maintained for example when walking round the building. We also ask everyone to respect and support everyone who continues to wear face coverings.

If you want to study in the Library, or browse the print collection and borrow books:

  • You can book an individual study space in advance – visit our booking page
  • Bring your University card - you will need this to access the building if you visit before 19th July 2021
  • We strongly advise you to wear a face covering (unless exempt)
  • Wash or sanitise your hands regularly – sanitation stations are available in the library
  • Bottled or lidded drinks only

If you do not need to come into the library you can return books via the self-return book chute outside the library, which is open 24 hours a day.
