Using the OneSearch Search

Go to OneSearch and search for your required article using the paper title – in Everything / Full text online / Articles and more

If we subscribe to the journal, you will see a link. However, If the paper you request is unavailable, you will either see irrelevant results or No records found

To locate the paper, under ‘Refine my results’ (on the right), click ‘Search beyond library collections’

Click on the article title – should say ‘Check for available services’ or ‘No full text

Under ‘How to get it’ click  ‘Request this item’ (If you are not logged in, you will have to click 'Log In' first)

This will open a form to request the paper via Rapid Interlibrary Loan. No need to change anything in the boxes or add a comment, just leave your Lancaster University email account and submit.

The article should be supplied within 24 hours if submitted Monday to Friday, however, some journal requests have slower response times.

Using Browser Plugins

You can install one of two Browser Plugins, Endnote Click and Lean Library that will automatically identify download links for journal articles, and if unavailable allow you to request an Interlibrary Loan. Read the Which browser extensions can help me download journal articles helpsheet for further information.

Manual Request (Last Resort Requests)

Some niche subject areas might not be available through our systems, if the steps above have failed please manually request via the OneSearch Resource Request Form. This will be slower than other methods as all requests will be reviewed by the library team.
